Channeling Puerto Rican Gusto

127 years later and Puerto Rico IS STILL only property and our needs are perpetually deferred. This begs the questions: Are we as a people doomed & WHY do we march for other causes when we have enough of our own???

BORICUAS—THIS IS YOUR WAKE-UP CALL.
We’ve invested too much time advocating for everybody else’s issues while our own communities are being ignored, and swept under the oval office rug. I'll say it yet again: ¡despiertarte que ya toca!

PAY ATTTENTION TO OUR OWN PROBLEMS:

Our people were exploited and scattered and are still politically invisible— even NOW, IN THIS DAY — EVEN AFTER the radicalized sacrifices of our nationalists. Movements that were the first of their kind and never again replicated - not even close! But, be that as it may, Puerto Rico & Puerto Ricans are still just.....up in the air. Wtf?! The island's debt is just over $70 BILLION right? Yea well, recent data proves that these invited illegal migrants cost American taxpayers $182 billion dollars* ANNUALLY as of 2024, so wtf is really good, Uncle Sam?! And more importantly WHY TF are WE not connecting and aligning ourselves with the bigger picture?

OUR PEOPLES WERE MANUFACTURED AND BROUGHT ABOUT INTO EXISTANCE BY COLONIZERS AND SLAVES. WE ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO BE HERE, BUT WE ARE AND OUR "MOTHER" COUNTRIES REFUSE TO ATONE. We need to reconnect and strengthen our footing before we set the wheels into motion. THIS IS OUR LINEAGE; OUR DAMN FUTURES.

We can't be expected to play along while federal money gets rerouted and priorities get reshuffled again. The longer we don’t mobilize for ourselves, the more deeper we sink in the muddle. As of right now, we're pretty much screwed. Nobody is coming to save us. It would've happened by now. No NATO, and definitely not Congress. No political parties or “allies" of any kind. Period.

And, you know, I see all these other groups advocate relentlessly for their own causes and some of which are straight up delusions soooo... Why aren’t we? Too busy fighting for others? Seems that way. We've been showing up and doing extra for other peoples battles and this statement is factual despite any rebuttal. Since the new millennium, no serious communal strategies have been formulated. No unified nothing. Just dead fish going with the flow, hoping the current will take them someplace better. Yeah, that stops now.

ThatFreakingPuertoRican.com refocus' attention where it belongs:

➡️ OUR people

➡️ OUR history

➡️ OUR economic and political leverage

➡️ OUR future in the States and on the island.

This is not about hating anyone else. This is about stopping the internalized neglect. Read. Learn. Get sharp. Then start asking better questions—and demanding better outcomes. If this post made you uncomfortable, good. Discomfort is usually the first sign you’re finally paying attention. 🇵🇷🔥
